Roshambo Rules

We've gathered the rocks. We’ve sharpened the scissors. And we've knocked down thousands of virtual forests to produce reams and reams of paper. Roshambo has arrived at UltimateBet. And you’re gonna love it.

What is Roshambo?

There’s a good chance you’ve played Roshambo before. Sure, maybe it wasn’t online. But we’re willing to bet that you’ve played this popular decision-based game somewhere in your career as a fun seeker.

Commonly referred to as Rock, Scissors, Paper, Roshambo is used to settle scores and make selections when a simple coin toss or drawing straws just doesn’t seem fair. Which friend gets the extra ticket to tonight’s playoff game? Roshambo to find out. Who’s stuck driving tonight? Roshambo and discover the loser.

Playing the game

As the above paragraph suggests, Roshambo involves three things – a rock, a pair of scissors and a piece of paper. What’s in your hands is entirely up to you.

In Roshambo, you don’t play against the house. You play against another live opponent. The object of the game is to win a match against your opponent. A match consists of a series of throws.

For each throw, you’ll select from a rock, a pair of scissors and a piece of paper. Your opponent will do the same. Your opponent cannot see what object you have chosen until both parties have made a selection.

Once both parties have chosen, their choices will be revealed. The winner of the throw is based on the following Roshambo diagram. Please consult the section ‘Remembering Roshambo Rules’ a few sections down to help you understand the logic behind the madness.

Rock – Beats Scissors
Scissors – Beat Paper
Paper – Beats Rock

Paper
Beats – Rock
Loses to – Scissors
How to remember – A piece of paper can wrap a rock. But a pair of scissors will cut right through it.
